SlowMist reports Qubic wallet key-generation vulnerability

By Rug.Tools Security Desk

What was reported

According to SlowMist, Qubic disclosed that attackers accessed and transferred approximately 2.94 trillion QU from 1,404 wallets after exploiting insufficient randomness. SlowMist says Qubic Wallet generated account seeds with the non-cryptographic Math.random() and exposed related pseudorandom outputs in plaintext, potentially allowing private-key recovery from network observations.

Why it matters

Predictable account seeds can let observers reconstruct private keys and take control of affected wallets. The reported incident combines an active wallet compromise with a serious key-generation vulnerability.

Evidence and limitations

  • The supplied source explicitly describes Qubic wallets and a reported compromise affecting 1,404 wallets.
  • The source reports approximately 2.94 trillion QU transferred.
  • No contract address appears in the supplied material.
  • Qubic is not among the supported chain values, so no chain is assigned.

Rug.Tools has not independently verified the publisher's incident claims. Reported allegations remain attributed to SlowMist; they are not presented as deterministic Rug.Tools findings.
