Yes. Every scan is free. You do not need to sign up or connect a wallet. Paste a supported token address to open a report, then review its observation times and any unresolved checks. Cached reports may be reused; opening an existing report does not mean its evidence was freshly acquired.

Trending and recently scanned lists refresh in the background every few minutes. Individual token reports refresh on demand and are cached for a short window to save RPC calls.

The raw data comes from public Solana, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base, Monad, Robinhood Chain, Arc and Cronos RPCs and DexScreener. The verdict is a data-driven summary — not investment advice. Always DYOR.

The backend combines verified contract controls, holder concentration, liquidity evidence, creator behavior and market lifecycle. Confirmed critical risks take priority. Market collapse alone does not prove malicious withdrawal, and missing data remains unknown.

Confidence describes the strength, completeness and freshness of the available evidence. Required checks and chain-specific limitations matter; High Confidence does not mean every possible risk was tested or that a token is safe.

Holder distribution is only one signal. A token with balanced holders can still be High Risk if liquidity is unlocked, the creator has a rug history, or the market shows manipulation patterns.

A qualitative High / Medium / Low rating shown in the Investigation panel. It tells you how much of the report is backed by successfully verified on-chain data.

The lifecycle stage of a token: Active, Declining, Dead, or Rugged. Derived from trading volume, liquidity trends, and on-chain activity.

Bundle detection examines available launch transactions, coordinated buying and wallet relationships. Timing or shared funding can warrant investigation, but does not by itself prove common ownership or fraud. Compare launch-time accumulation with current holdings and creator or funder evidence. Missing launch evidence does not establish that a token was unbundled or is safe.

We look at the wallet that deployed the token: how much they still hold across all token accounts, their past deployments, and their on-chain reputation.

How the token supply is spread across wallets — largest holder %, top-10 concentration, total unique holders, and known-wallet classification (LP, burn, exchange, insider).

LP size, pair age, whether the LP is verified or burned, and whether ownership of the LP is verifiable on-chain.

24h volume, price action, active pairs across Raydium / Pump.fun / Meteora / PumpSwap, and whether market activity looks organic or manipulated.

We map connections between the creator, top holders, and bundled wallets to surface insider clusters and coordinated buying.

No. Nothing in crypto is guaranteed. A green verdict means the on-chain signals look healthy right now — it does not predict the future.

No. We detect on-chain patterns consistent with rugs, but new scam techniques emerge constantly. Treat every result as one input in your decision.

Yes. Rug.Tools is a research tool, not a signal service. Read the full report, check the community, and never invest more than you can lose.

Scammers can pass early checks by delaying the rug, seeding fake volume, or using clean-looking wallets. That is why lifecycle, creator history, and market intelligence matter as much as the initial snapshot.

Reports are cached briefly to avoid hammering RPCs. Any repeat scan after the cache window automatically re-runs the full pipeline.

Directly from Solana, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base, Monad, Robinhood Chain, Arc and Cronos RPC nodes for on-chain state and from DexScreener for market data. Nothing is scraped from third-party dashboards.

Some checks (like deep bundle analysis) run asynchronously. If they haven't finished when the report loads, they show as pending and update once complete.

We classify known LPs, burn addresses, exchanges, and infrastructure wallets. Anything unrecognized stays unclassified rather than mislabeled.
